This week we conclude our series, "The (not so) New Way." We look at how Luke concluded the book of Acts, which at first glance may leave you wondering. We look at how Luke intentionally concluded the book in that way, because what started in the early church is to be continued by us today. God's plan will move forward, are we intentionally choosing to be a part of that plan? Are we living as if we are "Sent" by God to continue the mission?

We take a step back and take a look at the bigger picture that Luke is portraying. We see the way that God is moving his plan forward. We see that there is nothing that will stop that plan from being completed.

In our series, "The (not so) New Way" we are moving past the center of the book of Acts. Last week, was a little bit of a crescendo and this week we look at a specific event as Paul continues on his missionary journeys. We pause and look at what happened when the Sons of Sceva try and use Jesus name to wield power and authority. Are we any different? When we speak His name is it for our own plan and desires? Are they empty words, or are we allowing God to use us for His glory and not our own.

We reach the center of our study in the book of Acts, that we have called, "The (not so) New Way." Acts chapter 15, tells us about the Council in Jerusalem, that met to discuss what it looked like and what the requirements were for those choosing to be a part of God's family. The decision made at that council should be something we as a church today should be practicing. But are we? Or are we more content and hyper-focused on our traditions and methods, rather than the heart of what really matters when it comes to the mission given to us by God.
